Caps at Sharks pregame: California dreamin’

Did someone order a big ol’ dose of #RMNBAfterDark? If you did, you’re in luck! The Capitals have traveled out to California to kick off their three late night game marathon, starting with the San Jose Sharks. The Capitals will still be without Nicklas Backstrom, but the good news is that Carl Hagelin is returning to the third line!

Take a quick nap or put a pot of coffee on because puck drop is at 10:30 PM. Peter will have the recap.

Record 15-12-1 19-4-5
Shot Attempt % 50.3% 51.1%
PDO 96.9 100.6
Power Play 17.2% (20th) 25.3% (5th)
Penalty Kill 91.0% (1st) 83.0% (12th)

Projected Lines

The Capitals had practice in San Jose on Monday. Nicklas Backstrom skated as the extra and Carl Hagelin is officially off LTIR, here are your lines courtesy of Samantha Pell at the Washington Post:

Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Wilson
Vrana – Eller – Oshie
Hagelin – Boyd – Panik
Leipsic – Dowd – Hathaway

Kempny – Carlson
Orlov – Jensen
Siegenthaler – Gudas

Holtby

Nosek – Stephenson – Reaves

Nope. Absolutely not. Give him back. Don’t make him develop chemistry with Ryan Reaves. I will not stand for it.

Storylines

Black Widow

This seems like something a lot of people are excited about, so I thought I would share. Personally? I’m not a Marvel gal or a Scarlett Johansson gal so uh…I most likely will not watch this. But, Rachel Weisz and Florence Pugh are good.
