The New York Rangers hosted an emotional military reunion during the second period of their game against the Washington Capitals.
During a contest, a young Rangers fan, Luke, won a new jersey. The delivery was made by his dad who had been in Afghanistan for the last year.
Luke's father spent the last year in Afghanistan.
Tonight, he returned and surprised his son. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/HK4nUAN4Ar

Luke ran up the steps to hug his father. Both father and son cried in each others arms. The game was delayed because they couldn’t stop hugging and crying.
First, he won the in-arena trivia game.
Then, he won the best prize of all. Welcome home from Afghanistan, Dad. #NYR | @BudweiserUSA pic.twitter.com/kW9LMJ2BZ5
