The legend of Tom Wilson continues to grow.
Towards the tail end of the Capitals’ 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers, the top-six winger began throwing his body and engaging in some not-so-friendly post-whistle chats with his combatants – one of which was caught by a hot mic during NBC Sports’ presentation of the game.
The Washington Capitals went into New York to take on the Rangers with quite an interesting lineup, beleaguered by injuries. That shouldn’t be an excuse though for what was a very poor defensive effort in a 4-1 loss.
The shots ended tied at 31 apiece and the Caps took the five-on-five shot attempt battle, 48 to 36.

Wednesday night, the Washington Capitals brought their walking wounded lineup into action against familiar foes in the New York Rangers. Another rendition of the handsome goalie battle was upon us.
Artemi Panarin opened the scoring early in the second period on a power play and extended the lead on another man advantage in the third. Pavel Buchnevich added a strike in the third as well. Evgeny Kuznetsov got the Caps on the board with a power play strike of his own. Brett Howden had the Rangers’ fourth.
Rangers beat Caps 4-1.

The New York Rangers hosted an emotional military reunion during the second period of their game against the Washington Capitals.
During a contest, a young Rangers fan, Luke, won a new jersey. The delivery was made by his dad who had been in Afghanistan for the last year.
The Washington Capitals will be visiting Madison Square Garden tonight to take on the New York Rangers. The Caps will limp into the action, missing a few vital regulars due to injury.

The battle damaged Washington Capitals will limp their way into this Wednesday night rivalry matchup with the New York Rangers, brining multiple AHL reinforcements with them. Let us see if this ragtag bunch can still take down their familiar foe.
