Laila Anderson joins Pat Maroon to eat toasted ravioli out of Stanley Cup

St. Louis native Pat Maroon had his day with the Stanley Cup on Saturday. The immovable object hosted a party at Charlie Gitto’s, a popular Italian joint in downtown St. Louis, and ate toasted ravioli, a dish famous to the Lou, out of the championship trophy.

He invited 11-year-old Blues superfan Laila Anderson to share the moment with him.

The Keeper of the Cup, Phil Pritchard, posted video of Laila chowing down on Instagram.

“Stanley!” Laila said as she toasted the trophy with her toasted treat.

She then received a side hug from Maroon.

Laila has an extremely rare immune disease, HLH, that only affects 15 other children in the world and has kept her homebound. After several of the players met Laila during a hospital visit, she became close to the team and became an inspiration for the Blues during their Stanley Cup run. The team even invited her out to Game Seven in Boston where she got to celebrate with players on the ice and lift up the Stanley Cup after they won.

Laila wasn’t the only Blues celebrity in attendence. Playoff MVP Ryan O’Reilly was spotted by Instagram user @traylin_along at the party.

In the morning, Maroon also ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch out of the Stanley Cup with his son Anthony.

Last year, the Capitals used the Stanley Cup as a serving vessel for caviar, traditional Russian dumplings, Cap’n CrunchKoldskål, and a giant margarita.

Just nobody tell Ken.
