The St. Louis Blues gave superfan Laila Anderson one of the most important jobs of the 2020 NHL All-Star Game.
At the end of pregame introductions, Laila took the mic and introduced the four St. Louis Blues All-Stars Ryan O’Reilly, Jordan Binnington, David Perron, and Alex Pietrangelo to the capacity crowd at Enterprise Center.
The St. Louis Blues tugged at everyone’s heartstrings on Tuesday. A day after the players and coaches received their Stanley Cup championship rings, a very special delivery was made to a very special fan.
Laila Anderson, the Blues fan that captured hearts everywhere during the playoffs last season, received her own special Cup ring. A bonus: every ring displays her name inside the band.

The St. Louis Blues received their Stanley Cup Champion rings from local police and fire department personnel during a private ceremony Monday night.
The rings have the iconic musical note in front of the Stanley Cup on the front. The 75 diamonds creating and surrounding the Cup represent the 75 goals the Blues scored during the playoffs. In total, each ring has 282 diamonds.

St. Louis native Pat Maroon had his day with the Stanley Cup on Saturday. The immovable object hosted a party at Charlie Gitto’s, a popular Italian joint in downtown St. Louis, and ate toasted ravioli, a dish famous to the Lou, out of the championship trophy.
He invited 11-year-old Blues superfan Laila Anderson to share the moment with him.
Eleven-year-old Laila Anderson has been at the heart of the St. Louis Blues team since they met her at a Halloween event at Children’s Hospital. The Blues superfan suffers from a rare immune disease, HLH, and the team’s support for her–and her support for them–has been one of the best storylines of these Stanley Cup Playoffs.
For the Blues Stanley Cup Parade on Saturday, Laila and her family had a car of their own in the procession. She was part of the team onstage at the rally and raised the Cup in front of the tens of thousands of gathered fans who have come to know and love her as much as they do any of the players on the ice.
“I’m just so grateful I get to experience all of this with them,” she said.

Eleven-year-old Laila Anderson was at Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Final in Boston after a viral surprise from the St. Louis Blues. Laila has an extremely rare immune disease, HLH, that only affects 15 other children in the world and has kept her homebound. But on Tuesday, Laila’s mom told her the good news.
“What if I told you the Blues called and they want you at the game?”
“What? How?” Laila responded.
“Doctor said it was okay,” Mom replied.
“No, he didn’t. Mommy, no he didn’t,” the Blues superfan said breaking down into tears. “I’m going to Boston? Oh my god. Oh my god. I love you.”
Laila would ultimately prove to be the Blues’ good luck charm.
