The Capitals have been creative when dining out of the Stanley Cup bowl this summer. Players and coaches have eaten caviar, Lucky Charms, Cap’n Crunch, and ice cream out of the prized trophy.
But over the weekend, we saw a first when Capitals video coach Brett Leonhardt made a humangous big margarita in the Cup’s bowl.
He even remembered to put salt on the brim!

Leonhardt’s margarita adventure was first shared on Instagram by his wife Logan. The first video shows Leonhardt flipping the Cup over making sure that none of the salt falls off. In the second video, Leonhardt squeezed in two bottles of Marg mix.
The best part of this series of videos is Leonhardt’s 95-year-old grandfather drinking from the Cup through a straw. Leonhardt then takes a sip before helping Logan have her share.
What will be put in the Cup next?
