Washington Capitals fans are everywhere. They’re in Philly covertly dressed as Flyers fans but stan Braden Holtby. They’re forced to wear the opposing team’s colors due to draconian dress codes to get into the opposition’s arena. And some of them fly from Edmonton to Tampa for Game Five of the Eastern Conference Final to will the team to victory.
Which leads us to seven-year-old Kasen Taylor. Kasen lives in Las Vegas and during his elementary school’s field day, he was forced to wear Vegas Golden Knights gear.
His aunt Dana tweeted about Kasen’s displeasure when forced to wear Knights gear. Look at this sad smoll child, who just wants to rep his favorite team in peace.
My nephew lives in Vegas and he is distraught that he is being forced to wear Knights gear to his field day. He wrote a letter to @Capitals expressing his anger. I hope I can help let his voice be heard. Haha #capskid #wearitinsideout #whathappensinvegas #ALLCAPS pic.twitter.com/RLNTSwu2ac

Kasen emphatically gives the Knights two thumbs down. We do too kiddo.
He also wrote a letter to the Caps imploring them to help a stranded Caps fan in the middle of the desert.
The letter reads as follows:
Dear Washington Capitals,
My name is Kasen and I am seven years old. I leave (sic) in Las Vegas. On Friday is my fild (sic) day and my school is making me wear this ugly Golden Knight t-shirt and I give the Golden Knight 1,000,000,000 thumbs down. I’m the only Caps kide (sic) in town.
HELP!
From: Kasen Taylor #GoCaps!!
It turns out that Kasen’s mom made him wear the shirt, which she bought for $10.
Hi Edward, I can’t believe the support my nephew is getting! Caps fans are the best. I wasn’t able to DM you but happy to share his story for your morning show. PS – his mom is making him wear the shirt as she had to buy it for $10. Caps Rule Knights Drool as Kasen would say!

Kasen’s Caps fandom comes from his aunt Dana, who now lives in Alexandria but lived in Vegas for eight years and raised her niece and nephew as Caps fans. “When the Knights came around my niece drank the Kool-Aid but Kasen stayed true to his allegiance which is hard to do out there,” Dana explained.
And Dana’s got the evidence to back up Kasen’s fandom. She created a collage that includes Kasen in a Caps onesie and their time at Caps games.
Caps rule Knights drool indeed. And to support you, Kasen, we’re going to send you a shirt. Let us know which one you like most!
