Here is every match-up for the first round of the playoffs

The best moment in pro hockey is about to begin. We already know that the Caps will face the Canes in the first round, but now — with the final day of hockey nearly in the books — we know every match-up as well. Get hype.

Here they are, with the home team named first.

East

  • Tampa Bay Lightning vs Columbus Blue Jackets
  • Boston Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs
  • Washington Capitals vs Carolina Hurricanes
  • New York Islanders vs Pittsburgh Penguins

West

  • San Jose Sharks vs Vegas Golden Knights
  • Calgary Flames vs Colorado Avalanche
  • St Louis Blues vs Winnipeg Jets*
  • Nashville Predators vs Dallas Stars

Note: It’s not yet decided if the Jets or Blues will have home-ice advantage.

The NHL has the whole thing as a pretty bracket.

The playoff schedule will be announced on Sunday. A little bird tells us to expect Caps vs Canes game 1 to be on Wednesday night.
