On Saturday night, the Hershey Bears will be hosting their third-annual Autism Acceptance Night at Giant Center.
Specialty jerseys will be worn during the game and auctioned to benefit two local autism organizations, Vista School and The Tommy Foundation.
Earlier in the week, members of the Bears also skated with players from American Special Hockey Association (ASHA), local teams Hershey Heroes and York Polar Bears.
Special Hockey is a cause close to Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin’s heart. He has skated with players from ASHA this season as well and his participation has spurred on many new teams across the nation.
We were honored to be joined today by @specialhockey’s Hershey Heroes and York Polar Bears at Giant Center! After practice, players and staff members united with the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) for a fun afternoon skate! #HersheyBearsCares pic.twitter.com/xBPN3j4uLD
