Miroslav Satan Jr. is headed back to Slovakia for the 2026-27 campaign.
The son of Buffalo Sabres legend Miroslav Satan has joined HK 32 Liptovský Mikuláš of the Slovak Extraliga ahead of their six-week training camp, where he will fight to secure a spot on their roster for next season. Satan, a Washington Capitals‘ seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, spent the 2025-26 season split between the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit and QMJHL’s Shawinigan Cataractes.
While he did come up through Slovakia’s junior leagues with Slovan Bratislava, Satan never played at the senior level.
In 53 games split between the Spirit and Cataractes last season, Satan recorded six points (2g, 4a). All six came in the QMJHL, as he went scoreless in 24 games with Saginaw.
A 2024 draft pick, Satan spent his first post-draft season in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede and Omaha Lancers. He recorded four points (3g, 1a) in 45 games between the two clubs and also appeared in three games for Slovakia at the 2025 World Junior Championship.
Satan turned 20 this past March and is one of the bigger Capitals prospects, standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 202 pounds. He has attended the past two Capitals development camps and was at rookie camp in 2025.
According to PuckPedia, the Capitals have until June 1, 2028, to decide whether to sign Satan to an entry-level contract.
