The Washington Capitals are at home tonight and will be facing off against the Philadelphia Flyers. Seems like the only good thing about the Flyers these days is their mascot, Gritty (I don’t want to hear any Gritty slander, please keep it to yourself). Not only are they going to tie the NHL record by starting their seventh different goaltender this season, but their losing streak has now reached seven games. On the Capitals side, they will need to stay on their toes while Nicklas Backstrom stays a game-time decision due to illness.
The puck will be dropping around 7:30 PM and you can catch alllll the action on NBCSWA. As always you can stream all of their pregame, in-game, and postgame coverage via the My Teams app on all of your usual streaming devices. Mr. Peter Hassett will have you recap.
|Shot Attempt %||50.4%||49.5%|
|Power Play||13.8% (29th)||21.4% (10th)|
|Penalty Kill||75.2% (28th)||77.2% (25th)|
Isabelle from the Washington Post continues to be nothing short of a superstar with the lines. As mentioned above, Nicklas Backstrom is up in the air due to illness and will be a game-time decision:
Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Wilson
Vrana – Eller – Oshie
Burakovsky – Boyd- Connolly
Stephenson – Dowd – DSP
Kempny – Carlson
Orlov – Niskanen
Orpik – Siegenthaler
It is Ted Leonsis’ birthday!

It’s not a surprise at all, but I’m here to report that PK Subban continues to be a superhero. A user on reddit began a thread yesterday that mentioned, “My 13 year old son has been dealing with a lot of racist taunts this year. He received a text message Saturday night from his favorite player PK Subban”. The below video was posted below:

We need more people like PK not just in hockey, but in life.
