Hannukah may be over, but Christmas is close and the Washington Capitals are definitely in a gift-giving mood.
Not only did Alex Ovechkin score his second hat trick in back-to-back games against the Caroline Hurricanes, but he made a young fan’s night by giving away a puck during warmups.

The tiny Caps fan’s sign read All I Want For Xmas Is A Puck From Ovi And Another Stanley Cup.
Look how excited he was! He jumped up and down multiple times before getting a hug from his sister.

Later on, Ovi grabbed another puck for someone special — a commemorative puck for Jonas Siegenthaler’s first NHL point.
Newcomer Nic Dowd also made his presence known with his first ever three-point game–and a few extra presents.
The fourth-line center was almost to the tunnel after warmups when he noticed someone waiting in the stands nearby. With an assist from some staff nearby, he handed over a puck.

Not only did Dowd give a puck away in Carolina, but at MedStar Capitals Iceplex Saturday morning he and backup goaltender Pheonix Copley worked together to get a puck to a kiddo watching practice.
The netting in arenas is in place for fans’ protection, to stop them from being pelted with errant shots, but it can be a bit inconvenient when you’re trying to put one over the glass. Copley went up on his tiptoes to push the netting aside with his goalie stick, while Dowd eventually managed to throw one through the opening.
Look at the effort here to give a fan a puck. @russianmachine @ikhurshudyan pic.twitter.com/0mkS2eggox
