Alex Ovechkin gets puck for Jonas Siegenthaler after rookie defenseman records first NHL point

Alex Ovechkin just scored back-to-back hat tricks and currently leads the league with 28 goals.

But I want to highlight his first goal tonight. After scoring on a rocket from the left circle, Ovi had bigger things to do than celebrating with his teammates.

After a quick hug with his teammates, Ovechkin skated away to grab the puck from linesman Darren Gibbs. Ovi put the puck safely in his glove before skating by his bench for a quick round of high fives.

Siegenthaler’s assist also marks the first NHL point for a player of Thai-descent.
