Alex Ovechkin just scored back-to-back hat tricks and currently leads the league with 28 goals.
But I want to highlight his first goal tonight. After scoring on a rocket from the left circle, Ovi had bigger things to do than celebrating with his teammates.
Rookie defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler tallied his first NHL point on the primary assist. The captain made sure to get him some memorabilia so he could remember it forever.

After a quick hug with his teammates, Ovechkin skated away to grab the puck from linesman Darren Gibbs. Ovi put the puck safely in his glove before skating by his bench for a quick round of high fives.
Siegenthaler’s assist also marks the first NHL point for a player of Thai-descent.
