TJ Oshie is skating again, progressing from concussion

The Washington Capitals are in Glendale to play the Arizona Coyotes, but back at home in Arlington, there was some hockey happening too.

The Capitals posted a short clip of TJ Oshie skating on his own at Medstar Capitals Iceplex Thursday morning, where the star forward can be seen skating a speedy lap around the goal and a cone.

Oshie has been out since mid-November when he suffered an upper-body injury in a game against the Winnipeg Jets. The right wing was slammed head-first to the ice by Winnepeg’s Josh Morrissey. Capitals GM Brian MacLellan later revealed the injury was a concussion. Morrissey was fined, but not suspended for the WWE-esque move.

Oshie first returned to the ice on November 28, but did not skate. Wearing a sweatshirt and shoes, Oshie shot the puck around.

Earlier this week, Oshie first began skating again while the team was out on their west coast swing.

Thursday night’s game against Arizona will mark the tenth game that Oshie has missed as a result of his concussion.

Oshie has 14 points in 18 games this season including nine goals.
