Caps injury update: Kuznetsov in no-contact jersey, Oshie can’t skate, and Smith-Pelly and Kempny miss practice

The Capitals are trying to stave off another injury bug.

Both Devante Smith-Pelly and Michal Kempny are taking maintenance days instead of practicing with the squad. DSP blocked a shot with his right leg in the game against the Islanders and did not return to the game after the second period. It’s unclear what Kempny’s ailment is.

TJ Oshie, still sidelined with a concussion, was able to watch practice, but did not partake.

Oshie was supposed to participate in a meet and greet at Lindsay Cars with Chandler Stephenson, but that event has been canceled.

In good news, Evgeny Kuznetsov is participating fully in practice, albeit with a non-contact jersey.

The TL;DR of who is out with injuries versus maintenance:

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
