On Friday, the Canadian Hockey League in association with the Russian Ice Hockey Federation announced the rosters for the 2018 CIBC Canada Russia Series.
The six-game series will take place between November 5-15, and features players from across the KHL, WHL, OHL, and the QMJHL. The series is also part of the selection process that Canada and Russia will use to choose their teams for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Washington Capitals prospect Alexander Alexeyev — who was recently named the WHL’s Player of the Week — will play for Team Russia. He’ll play for Team Russia in their games in Western Canada on November 5 in Kamloops and November 6 in Vancouver. All six of the 2018 CIBC Canada Russia Series games will be broadcast nationally on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
Capitals’ 2018 third-round pick Riley Sutter was also selected to the WHL’s roster.

Alexeyev was also part of Team Russia’s roster at the 2017 CIBC Canada Russia Series, and recorded six penalty minutes across two games.
In 15 games with the Red Deer Rebels, Alexeyev has tallied seven goals and 13 assists, and is the second-highest scoring defenseman in the league. The Red Deer Rebels are currently top the WHL’s Central Division with a 10-4-1 record.
The Capitals selected 18-year-old Alexeyev with the 31st pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. Alexeyev made an impression with head coach Todd Reirden, and was the Capital’s standout defenseman during the prospect showcase in Florida over the summer.
Here are the full rosters for the series.
