Latta’s first tally for the Beijing based team — which has Wayne Gretzky as their global ambassador — came eight games into his KHL career, against Avtomobilist on Sunday. And, as far as first goals go, it was pretty sweet.

Latta’s first shot was stopped by Avtomobilist goaltender Jakub Kovar, but he caught the rebound mid-air with a partial baseball swing and buried it, putting the Red Star up 2-1.
The Red Star could not hold on to their lead, and eventually dropped the game 5-2.
In eight games with Kunlun Red Star, Latta has one goal, and one assist, and six penalty minutes.
