Capitals to host outdoor viewing party outside Capital One Arena for banner-raising ceremony

For fans who can’t make it inside Capital One Arena on October 3 to watch the Capitals hoist their championship banner prior to their Opening Night game vs. the Boston Bruins, there is now another way to be part of the celebration.

The Capitals, along with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, announced Friday morning that they will be hosting an outdoor viewing party outside Capital One Arena. The ceremony and game will be shown on the video screen located above the McDonald’s on G Street.

The festivities kick off at 4:45 pm with the Rock the Red Carpet event. The pre-game banner ceremony is expected to begin around 7:00 pm, with puck drop for the actual game at 7:30 pm.
