Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has been relatively quite on social media since the birth of his son, Sergei, on August 18.
Tuesday, however, he shared a picture of himself in scrubs, along with his sister-in-law and Nastya’s OB-GYN, Maryana Bucucea.
In the post, Ovechkin echoed Nastya’s words of thanks to the Miami-based doctor, whose practice appears to be based in part on assisting Russian families give birth in the U.S.
“I want to join my wife in once again thanking the best doctor, @mbubucea,” wrote Ovechkin. “I was calm inside knowing that the two most important people in my life were in your hands!”
Nastya’s post, quoted in full in that of her husband, reads as follows.
“In this post, I want to express thanks from myself and our whole family to my unbelievable doctor, the OBGYN @mbubucea, Maryana Bucucea–a person from who emits such energy, positivity, and warmth, that next to her you feel such calm that during birth I experienced neither worry nor fear! After that sort of birth [experience] I want to do it again and again ))),” Nastya wrote. “I am over the moon that I found out about you! Thank you for your professionalism! You are a genius, and that’s a fact. I won’t list all of your qualifications, since I’m afraid they won’t fit here.
“P.S. I want to say right now to those who, when reading this post, think, ‘oh sure, an ad, and she had her baby for free, and so on'” Nastya added. “I would have given birth for free no matter what, [because of] my insurance. So this post was written from the heart and soul! Thank you again, @mbubucea! We love you. #bestdoctor #thankyou #theovechkins”
