The Washington Capitals have announced they they will once again be participating a three-team rookie tournament this September in Estero, Florida.
The tournament, which will take place from September 8-11, will pit the Capitals’ prospects against prospects from the Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers.
Last year’s tournament was ultimately cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. The team donated the water and Gatorade that was to be used in the tournament to those affected by the hurricane.

The Washington Capitals will host a three-team rookie tournament to be held at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla., from Sept. 8-11, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today. The 2018 NHL Prospects Showcase will also feature top prospects from the Nashville Predators and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Capitals prospects will face the Lightning prospects once and the Predators prospects twice during the round-robin tournament. The Capitals’ tournament roster and further media information will be announced at a later date.

- Saturday, Sept. 8: Washington at Nashville, 1 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept 9: Nashville at Tampa Bay, 1 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 10: Tampa Bay at Washington, 10 a.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 11: Nashville at Washington, 11:30 a.m.All Times Eastern
