On Wednesday, the Washington Capitals announced the 23 rookies that will be participating in the three-team rookie tournament in Estero, Florida.

The tournament, which is taking place this weekend, will pit the Capitals’ prospects against the young players from the Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning.

This will be the fourth year the Capitals are participating. Last year’s tournament was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. The team instead donated the water and Gatorade that would have been used in the tournament to those affected by the hurricane.

The games take place at the Germain Arena, home of the ECHL Florida Everblades.

The complete schedule for this year is listed below:

    • Saturday, September 8 – Washington vs. Nashville 1 pm on Caps Radio 24/7
    • Sunday, September 9 Nashville vs. Tampa Bay 1 pm
    • Monday, September 10 Tampa Bay vs. Washington 10 am on Caps Radio 24/7
    • Tuesday, September 11 Nashville vs. Washington 11:30 am on Caps Radio 24/7

    Full roster

For those of you on mobile: Alexander Alexeyev, Kristofers Bindulis, Kody Clark, Martin Fehervary, Eric Florchuk, Tobias Geisser, Shane Gersich, Connor Hobbs, Juuso Ikonen, Lucas Johansen, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Maximilian Kammerer, Alex Kannok-Leipert, Beck Malenstyn, Kristian Roykas Marthinsen, Mason Mitchell, Garrett Pilon, Brian Pinho, Ilya Samsonov, Jonas Siegenthaler, Mark Simpson, Riley Sutter, and Logan Thompson.

    More from the Caps:

The Washington Capitals will compete in a three-team rookie tournament to be held at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla., from Sept. 8-11. The 2018 Prospects Showcase will also feature top prospects from the Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning. Capitals prospects will face the Lightning prospects once and the Predators prospects twice during the round-robin tournament.

The Capitals’ tournament roster includes prospects who are under contract and recent Capitals draft picks who have not been signed yet. In addition, several undrafted and free agent amateur players will participate.
