The Washington Capitals had already set the record for highest rated Capitals’ game during Game Four of the 2018 Stanley Cup Final with a 22.9 local rating. Last night, after clinching the Stanley Cup, they broke the record once more with a 25.2 local rating in the Washington DC area.
NBC Sports PR reports that the local rating roughly translates to 1 out of every 2 TVs in Washington DC in use at the time were tuned in to Game Five. That is a lot of eyes.
With 25.2 local rating in Washington, D.C., last night’s Cup-clinching Game 5 was HIGHEST RATED Capitals game EVER on networks of NBC in market. Gm5 also did 45 share meaning nearly 1 out of every 2 TVs in DC in use at the time were watching Game 5.
