With torrential rainfall and a never-ending forecast of precipitation, parts of Frederick, Maryland has turned into a swamp. The flooding has ravaged downtown Baker Park, delayed the opening of schools, and caused damage across the country. And now it’s postponing minor-league baseball games.
Friday afternoon, the Frederick Keys, the single A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, announced that their night devoted to the Washington Capitals was postponed due to the weather. Former Capitals forward Mike Knuble will not be in attendance.

“Caps Night (w/jerseys) will be on Sunday afternoon,” Keys PR Geoff Arnold said in an email. “Our players will wear the jerseys for Game 2 of the doubleheader (Game 1 begins at noon and game 2 will be 30 min after). People can bid on them on the concourse. Proceeds benefit Play4TheCure.”
In an interview with RMNB, Knuble said his appearance had been rescheduled for next season. He will likely be back sometime in April or May of 2019.
