Zach Leonsis, senior vice president of strategic initiatives for Monumental Sports & Entertainment, general manager of Monumental Sports Network, and son of Ted Leonsis, just made a rather hefty real-estate purchase. A $9 million Kalorama mansion, to be exact, according to Curbed DC, the Washington Business Journal and UrbanTurf.
The home was previously owned by Robert Allbritton, the founder of Politico. Allbritton sold it in 2007 to the current owners. It was first listed by those owners in October 2017 for $9,975,000.

The Kalorama mansion underwent a five-year renovation, which completed in 2015. The renovations spanned the entirety of the property, top-to-bottom.

Leonsis’ new four-level home boasts six bedrooms, a glass orangery, a lower-level theater room and a library. Additionally, there is a sunroom, a pool, several patios, and parking for four cars.
The sale, according to UrbanTurf, is the priciest in DC this year.
Zach married Melissa Cook over the summer, with the ceremony taking place in the backyard at his parents’ Potomac mansion. Both Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom were guests.
