Tom Wilson pummels Mark Borowiecki in fight, scores 11th goal of season

The Capitals were outclassed Monday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, falling behind 4-1 after the first 20 minutes. Tom Wilson was clearly not going to let that happen Tuesday at Capital One Arena and decided to unfurl his massive man-fists early against the Ottawa Senators.

In a quick fight with Mark Borowiecki, Tom landed two brutal rights that sent the Senators forward briefly to the locker room.

Tom also scored a goal early in the second period – his 11th of the season.

Tom’s fight with Borowiecki lasted less than 10 seconds, but it was brutal. Borowiecki didn’t throw a punch while Wilson connected with a haymaker and an uppercut.

While the Caps banged their sticks against the boards in approval, a fan sitting in the lower bowl was definitely the most excited person in the arena about the fight.

Personally, I can understand why because Borowiecki has a very punchable face.

Both players would eventually go to the locker room for repairs. Wilson’s knuckle was bloodied.

Wilson would later add a goal to give the Caps a 2-0 lead in the second period.

After taking a pass from Nicklas Backstrom, Wilson fired a wrist shot past Mike Condon.

Wilson finished an assist away from his first career Gordie Howe Hat Trick.
