The Capitals begin their big five-game home stand tonight against the LA Kings. The Kings are currently tied with the Caps in wins, but are leading the league when it comes to the penalty kill. While this game might seem a bit daunting, history is on the Caps’ side. The Capitals have won three straight home games against the Kings, not to mention they’ve been lookin’ preeeeetty good lately. Not that I’m biased or anything.
The game starts at 7 PM on on NBCSWA(hoooo). Pat Holden will have your recap before you rest your eyes and go to sleep. Welcome back, folks. Work hard, grind it out, and before you know it you’ll be out again for another holiday.

Projected Lines
Weird morning, but most importantly…stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but the Djoos is loose (and cleared to play). Thanks to Tarik, the lines are as follows:
Ovechkin – Backstrom – Wilson
Vrana – Kuznetsov – Oshie
Graovac – Eller – DSP
Stephenson – Beagle – Chiasson
Orpik -Carlson
Orlov – Niskanen
Djoos – Bowey
Holtby
Joel Ward is still perfect
In the least shocking news possible, Joel Ward is still being adorable. Look at him, being all happy to skate out to the Barbados ad, then take this blurry picture, and tweet out a Happy Independence Day to Barbados. It’s their 51st independence day celebration. I love him so much.
Storylines
- Oi, mate. Nathan Walker was put on waivers. Crikey!
- The Capitals visited a bunch of kids at a local hospital and my cold, dead heart began to beat again.
- Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, especially to the folks with the coveted Capitals gravy boats which are now going for a slick 100 bucks on ebay.
- Clear eyes, full hearts, what the heck is this Hershey Bears photoshoot. I’m getting some “Friday Night Lights” vibes…but on a field in skates.
- Bryce Harper was seen sportin’ a Nate Schmidt jersey at the Vegas Golden Knights game *cue nostalgic sigh*
- I worked very hard this year and am of the opinion that I should be TIME’s “Man Of The Year”…but I will settle with Ted Leonsis’ pick of Chef José Andrés.
- Now, this isn’t being biased, but Caps fans are the best. Take a look at these human angels that adopted a pup from the canine calendar!
- Derek Dorsett, from the Canucks, has decided to step away from hockey for a bit due to health issues. All the best to Derek.
Another casual reminder
If you don’t really care about the LA Kings, I would like to remind you of a reason to care.
Whatever, I’m over it.
