Winnik scored 12 goals and 13 assists in 72 games last season. After scant ice time in the opening month, Winnik established himself as an excellent role player.
Winnik earned $2.25 million per year on his last deal. At the right price, he would be an excellent pickup for the Wild, who were already one of the league’s best teams defensively last year.
The Caps have signed Jyrki Jokipakka and Alex Chiasson to tryout agreements. Former Caps forward Brooks Laich will attend camp with the LA Kings.
