Both players play for the hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In the Caps zone, Sheary reached to obstruct Lar Eller, but instead got spun, colliding with Hornqvist.
Sheary fell to all fours and was promptly led down the tunnel for attention.
Sidney Crosby was injured in the first period and is not expected to return.
