The Washington Capitals are going to round two and there was no one more excited than Dmitry Orlov.
As Marcus Johansson tucked the game-winning biscuit into the back of the net, he was mobbed by his teammates at the far boards. But several excited Capitals lingered on the bench for an extra few seconds. Orlov was one of these people.
Watch as Orlov jumps high into the air twice, while sporting the biggest grin ever.
Orlov’s jump is even better in slow motion.
This is the look of a Russian player who loves this team, loves his teammates, and knows that the Capitals succeeded with him as a top-pairing defenseman.
Meanwhile, there were other exemplary celebrations.
Barry Trotz got a vertical of at least eight inches.
TJ Oshie, Tom Wilson, and Jay Beagle all engaged in a group hug on the bench.
Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby were all like I love you, man.
Ted Leonsis was emotionally spent.
And somewhere in this pig pile is Marcus Johansson.
I hope they didn’t crush his little Swedish body to death BECAUSE WE’RE GOING TO ROUND TWO, BABY.
