Evgeny Kuznetsov says Capitals focusing on good team defense because ‘we can play offensive hockey in the summer beer league’

Evgeny Kuznetsov is almost always a funny interview and he delivered once again during TNT’s pregame show ahead of Game Four.

When asked about the Capitals’ stingy team defense, Kuzy had the perfect response.

“That’s not the fun hockey you want to play but that’s the time of year we have to commit,” Kuznetsov explained. “We can play offensive hockey in the beer league in the summer, right? Right now we have to play D and stay focused.”

Alex Ovechkin shoots his shot as TNT rules analyst during Capitals-Lightning game

Alex Ovechkin already has a lot of jobs, but he appeared to add another one during the Capitals-Lightning game.

When John Carlson’s McNuggets Minute goal in the first period was challenged for being offside, Ovechkin leaned over from his perch at the Capitals bench to look at the replays on Darren Pang’s monitor.

It was there that Ovechkin began shouting his, uh, analysis on why the goal should absolutely count.

TNT joked on its NHL Twitter account, “Our newest rules analyst: Alex Ovechkin.”
