A year and one day ago, the Washington Capitals defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning to advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in two decades. Here is all of RMNB’s amazing coverage of that fateful day.

Capitals get engraved on Prince of Wales Trophy and it looks SO good

Earlier this week, the Capitals finally got their team name engraved for a second time on the Prince of Wales trophy. The trophy is awarded to the Eastern Conference playoff champions, prior to the final series of games for the Stanley Cup.

This summer just keeps getting better.

Alex Ovechkin is running out of room in his bed for all his trophies, according to hilarious cartoon

Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has earned some serious hardware over the course of the 2017-18 season. The Prince of Wales trophy, Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup and, as of Wednesday night, his seventh Rocket Richard trophy.

Ovechkin’s wife, Nastya, posted a cartoon to her Instagram stories, depicting the very real issue that they have with Ovi’s latest award: they’re running out of space in their bed.

Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals were not scared to touch the Prince of Wales Trophy

During an interview with NBC Sports’ Pierre McGuire, Alex Ovechkin was asked if he ever thought about touching the Prince of Wales Trophy after becoming Eastern Conference Champions.

“You’re going to see right now,” Ovechkin said wryly, obfuscating his next move.
