Earlier this week, the Capitals finally got their team name engraved for a second time on the Prince of Wales trophy. The trophy is awarded to the Eastern Conference playoff champions, prior to the final series of games for the Stanley Cup.
This summer just keeps getting better.

To add to the trophy party, a few days ago Alex Ovechkin was engraved on the Rocket Richard Trophy for the 7th time, creating a nice cozy Sidney Crosby sandwich with Alex Ovechkin bread. The trophy is awarded to the leading goal scorer in the National Hockey League. No big deal.

All this trophy etching is leading up to the one that really matters…individual names on the Stanley Cup. The engraving on the Cup will take place in September.
