The Boston Bruins superstar scored his tenth career hat trick on Sunday during the team’s outdoor game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The three goals were cool, but it was [gestures broadly to everything else] that made it magical.
The NHL has spent the last few weeks transforming the picturesque 18th fairway of Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Stateline, Nevada, into an ice hockey rink. The Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, Boston Bruins, and Philadelphia Flyers will play the 31st and 32nd regular-season outdoor games in NHL history on Saturday and Sunday lakeside surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
“Wow,” wrote former Capitals goaltender Philipp Grubauer on Instagram when he first viewed the rink from the bleachers.

Our newphew Andre Burakovsky is going viral for his superior outdoor game knowlege.
On Tuesday, Burakovsky and his teammate, forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, did a post-practice interview with media and discussed the Avalanche’s upcoming outdoor game at Lake Tahoe. The Avalanche will play the Vegas Golden Knights on February 20 while the Boston Bruins will take on the Philadelphia Flyers a day later.
Bellemare was under the impression that the game would literally be played on the lake. But Burakovsky came to the rescue with his hockey nerdery.
Clearly, he read the NHL’s press release yesterday.
The NHL made it official on Monday. As first reported on New Year’s Day, the league will play two outdoor games at Lake Tahoe in February.
The Colorado Avalanche will play the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday, February 20 and the Philadelphia Flyers will take on the Boston Bruins on Sunday, February 21. Both games will be broadcast on NBC at 3 PM.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Friday, New Year’s Day, that there will be outdoor games this season after all.
After postponing both their Winter Classic and Stadium Series games this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NHL will play two outdoor games at the beautiful Lake Tahoe, which they’re calling the “Outdoor Weekend showcase.” No fans will be in attendance except for NHL and team employees (around 400 employees).
The four teams that will play in the games are the Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, Philadelphia Flyers, and Vegas Golden Knights. The Avalanche will play Golden Knights on February 20 and the Bruins will play the Flyers on February 21. The
