Garnet Hathaway celebrates bardown goal on Jeremy Swayman with ‘home run’ call from back

Garnet Hathaway scored the game-winning goal in the Washington Capitals’ huge 2-1 victory over the first-place Boston Bruins.

Hathaway tallied in the second period, intercepting an errant Bruins’ clear at the blue line and beating Jeremy Swayman with a shot off the crossbar and in.

But it wasn’t Hathaway’s goal that got the most attention. It was his ridiculous goal celebration while laying on the ice.

Teemu Selanne salutes Alex Ovechkin after Capitals captain recreates his shooting-glove goal celly

NHL legend Teemu Selanne took to Twitter on Thursday to salute Alex Ovechkin. The day before, the Capitals published a video of Ovechkin recreating the Finnish Flash’s shotgun goal celebration during practice.

“Beautiful @ovie 😂👍😊💪👏,” Selanne wrote.

Mite on ice does Mark Ingram’s touchdown celebration after scoring goal

The Howard Huskies’ Jack Cavanaugh loves “scoring goals” and “winning.”

Last night, the tiny hockey player did both during the Capitals’ Mites On Ice game, but it was his Mark Ingram-inspired celly that got him the attention of the National Hockey League.

TJ Oshie scores on incredible wraparound, does tandem goal celly with Jakub Vrana

TJ Oshie is a man of many talents. And Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Oshie used his soft hands to score a nifty wraparound goal late in the third period. From his knees.

The goal gives the Osh Babe three tallies in his last two games. It officially put the game out of reach for Tampa.

Jakub Vrana and TJ Oshie debut new tandem celly at morning skate

The Washington Capitals had a quick jaunt on the ice ahead of their bout against the Vegas Golden Knights, Saturday. But while they were there, something important happened. RMNB’s Elizabeth Kong captured TJ Oshie and Jakub Vrana practicing a new tandem celebration during practice.

It’s some kind of super-punch/superhero celly.

Nicklas Backstrom shows off sword-sheathing celly during Brynas’s annual ‘Black And White’ game

Nicklas Backstrom took part in the ‘Black and White’ annual game on Thursday with his former club Brynas IF. He and Capitals teammate Christian Djoos put up a valiant effort for Team Black, who lost by a score of 7-5. Backstrom certainly did his part, scoring on a penalty shot which tied up the game at 4-4.

After scoring, he celebrated like we’ve never seen him celebrate before.

Canucks prospect Tyler Madden does Evgeny Kuznetsov’s kayak celebration

A politician recently said that “it only has ever been radicals that have changed this country.” That’s certainly true in hockey where Evgeny Kuznetsov’s creative cellies continue to spread despite the best efforts of Don Cherry.

Canucks prospect Tyler Madden celebrated scoring Northeastern’s overtime winner against UMass-Amherst on Friday with a celly that Canes and Kuznetsov fans should be familiar with: he slid on his butt and rowed the air with his hockey stick.
