Evgeny Kuznetsov did the baby shark chomp after TJ Oshie was given Capitals hard hat

Washington Nationals fan (and also very good hockey player) Evgeny Kuznetsov was one of the happiest players in the Capitals locker room after his linemate, TJ Oshie, was awarded the team’s hard hat for his two-goal performance against the Boston Bruins.

The hard hat is a Nationals batting helmet signed by the World Series-winning team. Adam Eaton gave it to the Caps the night they celebrated their championship at Capital One Arena.

TJ Oshie and Jakub Vrana’s bromance continues with postgame tweets, compliments

TJ Oshie and Jakub Vrana are happy, go-lucky people off the ice and on it, the wingers are both highly-skilled and, well, kinda–weird too. Grouped on the second line with Evgeny Kuznetsov, Oshie and Vrana have become very close as they’ve gotten off to strong starts to the season.

Wednesday, the two players’ budding bromance continued to bloom after the Capitals’ 3-2 win over the NHL’s second-place team, the Boston Bruins. TJ Oshie scored twice and gave Vrana some credit for his big second period.

Beating up Boston: numbers for the morning after

The Washington Capitals continued their ownage of the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night, taking down the other Eastern Conference powerhouse by a score of 3-2.

The Bruins out-shot the Caps 32-25, but were out-attempted at five-on-five 46 to 39.

Take us home, TJ Oshie: Caps beat Bruins 3-2

The league’s number-one and number-two teams collided as the Washington Capitals hosted the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night, delivering a night of real good hockey.

NHL goal leader David Pastrnak scored first with an odd-man rush. TJ Oshie scored two goals in the second period, including a thrilling highlight-reel goal we’ll discuss below. Sean Kuraly tied the game early in the third period by deflecting Krug’s wild shot from way out, but John Carlson answered with a one-timer serviced by Nicklas Backstrom. The lead held.

TJ Oshie had an electric second period on Wednesday, recording back-to-back goals to give the Caps the lead over the Boston Bruins.

The first goal was a hardworking net-front effort. The second was the result of some god-tier fancy moves.

Tom Wilson fights Zdeno Chara in a bout between two large legends

Tom Wilson and Zdeno Chara threw hands in the first period in what has to be one of the tallest fights in NHL history.

The two players came to blows due to some orneriness from Wilson near the corner boards.

Wilson gave The Big Z a BIG cross-check, breaking his hockey stick over the Slovakian legend. Chara didn’t appreciate that attempt to injure so HERE WE GO!

Caps vs Bruins: Battlin’ Boston

The Capitals are about to hit the road again, for another three-game trip away from Capital One Arena, but before they head out, they play host to the Boston Bruins at home. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Boston Bruins are lookin’ real good. David Pastrnak is currently leading the league in goals (25) and the Bruins have an edge against the Capitals in both the power play and the penalty kill. Let the battle commence.
