Tom Wilson fights Zdeno Chara in a bout between two large legends

Tom Wilson and Zdeno Chara threw hands in the first period in what has to be one of the tallest fights in NHL history.

The two players came to blows due to some orneriness from Wilson near the corner boards.

Wilson gave The Big Z a BIG cross-check, breaking his hockey stick over the Slovakian legend. Chara didn’t appreciate that attempt to injure so HERE WE GO!

The two behemoths threw about a dozen punches, but none really landed.

The best part of the fight, beyond the fact it actually happened, was that the Capitals played Stone Cold Steve Austin’s theme song as they violently tried to rearrange each other’s face.

Both players got five for fighting while Wilson got an extra minor for the cross-check.

Chara is 6′9″ while Wilson is 6′4″ and an investor in a trendy boxing studio.

So, yeah. Tom fought a future Hockey Hall of Famer. Though I guess it’s not that big of a deal since he’s done it before.
