TJ Oshie and Jakub Vrana are happy, go-lucky people off the ice and on it, the wingers are both highly-skilled and, well, kinda–weird too. Grouped on the second line with Evgeny Kuznetsov, Oshie and Vrana have become very close as they’ve gotten off to strong starts to the season.
Wednesday, the two players’ budding bromance continued to bloom after the Capitals’ 3-2 win over the NHL’s second-place team, the Boston Bruins. TJ Oshie scored twice and gave Vrana some credit for his big second period.
Oshie was asked where his second goal ranked on his personal highlight reel.
“I haven’t seen it yet. I don’t know,” Oshie said before giving his Czech liney some dap. “I felt like I had V’s wheels. On the bench, I had to check my skates and make sure there wasn’t a 13 under there so I don’t know. Like I said, I haven’t seen it. It felt pretty lucky for the puck to squeak through there and you just try to put it upstairs with a couple of sticks on ya. I’m happy it went in.”
After the game, Vrana saw Oshie’s comments on social media and responded (I don’t know any other way to put this) sweetly.
“@TJOshie77 maybe, but that definitly [sic] wasnt [sic unbelievable] even close to my hands oshbabe 😅 i [so sic] check my gloves sometimes if there is 77 asking the same thing,” Vrana said.

The romantic tweets come a week after Oshie and Vrana cuddled on the Capitals bench.

RMNB’s Elizabeth Kong also brilliantly captured the two hugging at practice in November.
Sorry Ovi and Nicky, this is the new greatest bromance in hockey.
RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
