The Washington Capitals broke in new gear on Monday morning for their NHL Hometown Remix jerseys, which are set to be released at the beginning of November. The gear was primarily blue, black, and bronze-colored, with white used as a subtractive color for things like logos and numbers.
Capitals’ skaters wore blue helmets and gloves; the CCM mitts were especially stunning, featuring white cuffs with a bronze outline around the logo. The all-black pants were a throwback to the team’s Reverse Retro 2.0 uniform, featuring three vertical bronze stars up the side.
Logan Thompson and Charlie Lindgren also showed off their stunning new gear complete with newly designed buckets from their mask painters.
Logan Thompson – Hometown Remix gear

Thompson’s pads and blocker brought over his stripes-and-stars design from his normal rotation, featuring blue, black, and bronze.
Thompson’s Hometown Remix mask is a new take on his 2024 Flaming Skull design, reminiscent of Olie Kolzig’s iconic Godzilla design.

The Flaming Skull is a tribute to former NHL goaltender Mikka Kiprusoff, whom Thompson grew up rooting for in Calgary.
“I was a big Kipper fan growing up,” Thompson said. “I just remember how he and [Jarome] Iginla were such impact players. Calgary was bad, but Kipper would give them a chance to win every night, just making ridiculous saves.”
Charlie Lindgren – Hometown Remix gear

Lindgren’s new equipment, including his mask, brought over the zig-zag pattern on his home-and-away gear.

The Capitals wearing the equipment comes five days after the club teased their design, revealing a powder blue base color for the jersey and a scrambled phrase “Carved in the Capital” headline.
The new jerseys, according to Icethetics, which claimed to see one of the sweaters, will feature the Capitol Dome as the main logo; horizontal white, black, and bronze stripes around the waist and sleeves; marble textures; the Screaming Eagle logo as a shoulder patch; and a tribute to DC’s cherry blossom trees.
The NHL officially announced the long-rumored Hometown Remix jersey program on August 19 — “the first 32-team special edition uniform, apparel and headwear program designed and developed by Fanatics since becoming the league’s authentic on-ice uniform outfitter in 2024.”
The jerseys appear to be the NHL’s take on the NBA’s City Edition and MLB’s City Connect jersey programs, as well as Fanatics’ own take on Adidas’s Reverse Retro jerseys, which saw the Washington Capitals bring back their Screaming Eagle on black and red jerseys.
While the league teased more info to come after the 2026-27 season began, no drop date has officially been announced. Several clubs, though, have already unveiled when they’ll be wearing their Hometown Remix jerseys, beginning on November 2.
