The Washington Capitals have hit the road and first stopped in Winnipeg to play the Jets again. Hopefully this time the Capitals can hold on to the lead and get the two points during regulation. I know this isn’t about me, but I just started a new job on Monday and I am exhausted, so I would appreciate a winning end on the earlier side.
Puck drop is at 8 PM and Julia will meet you back here for the recap!

Projected Lines
As always, Samantha Pell from the Washington Post has us covered with the practice lines. These are from Wednesday and Coach Todd is planning to put Braden Holtby in net on Sunday against Minnesota:
Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Wilson
Vrana – Backstrom – Oshie
Hagelin – Eller – Kovalchuk
Panik – Dowd – Hathaway
Dillon – Carlson
Orlov – Jensen
Kempny – Gudas
Samsonov
Joel Ward Forever
Got me crying in the club.
I don’t know where to begin…but from the bottom of my heart I want to THANK the entire @Capitals organization and @TedLeonsis for the invite and I look forward to continue to promote diversity in the game we all love! #BlackHistoryMonth 👊🏾 pic.twitter.com/CGvbVon6ii

Storylines
- Christopher’s morning after numbers are available in case you need a quick check-in on the boys.
- Sergei Ovechkin stole the dang show when he decided to be adorable during Ovi’s 700 pregame ceremony.
- Speaking of lil’ baby Sergei, he got the chance to meet Captain and give him some gentle pets!
- Will the NHL always want to ruin fun things? Probably. They shouldn’t fix what isn’t broken.
- Spoiler alert, TJ Oshie is still a great guy.
- Jakub Vrana has a valid fear.
- Peter has some excellent thoughts on the defensive pairings. Enjoy.
- The Jets are obsessed with Ovechkin, pass it on.
Javelina Jettin’
I want to talk about the hottest topic taking over my brain recently. This javelina was spotted haulin’ ass down the street in Tucson, Arizona. First of all, I did have to google javelina because all I know is that it’s a restaurant in NYC specializing in queso.
A javelina was caught speeding near 22nd and Kolb in Tucson. https://t.co/NPmuBvrATc pic.twitter.com/X1F1StOYVG

According to the google search I just did, it is a “medium-sized pig-like hoofed mammal of the family Tayassuidae”. So, a pig I guess? Second, I am hypnotized by the size of this unit and the speed in which it can carry its mass. Third, the memes. You knew they were coming, but I’m mainly bewitched by this account below that has been dubbing songs over the clip.

Anyway, just search “javelina” on twitter. Good jokes out there.
