The Capitals accomplished a feat that has only done six times before in NHL history.
Today’s Capitals win marked the sixth time in NHL history a team won a game after allowing an empty net goal and the first time since Oct. 15, 2016 (Vancouver 2, Calgary 1, SO).

According to NBC Sports Washington, the game also marked the sixth time during the 2019-20 season that the Capitals have come back from a two-goal deficit during a game to win.
