A Tom Wilson goal caused Henrik Lundqvist to smash his stick

Tom Wilson scored a huge goal in the second period pushing his career-high total to 17.

But it was what happened afterward that was truly amazing.

The typically gentlemanly Henrik Lundqvist hulked out.

Taking advantage of some pretty triangulation passing on the powerplay, Lars Eller, found Jakub Vrana, who then sent a pretty touch pass to Wilson, hiding out in the slot.

Wilson one-timed the shot past Lundqvist to give the Capitals a 3-1 lead in the second period.

The goal was Wilson’s third PPG of the season.

Lundqvist smashed his stick over the crossbar in disgust.

“I just try and watch and learn from Osh. He’s one of the best there,” Wilson said at intermission. “We work on it a lot in practice so when you get a chance like that when you’re open, you have to try to make the most of it.”
