The NHL’s new goals king reached immortality in his 20th career season, all spent with the Washington Capitals. One of the most durable players in NHL history, Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky’s mark in 1,487 games, the same amount of games that The Great One played in his career.
Playing in three different decades, Ovechkin’s had help from many different Capitals players to reach this milestone moment.
