Andrew Cristall received some unsolicited dental work last weekend during the Spokane Chiefs’ 6-3 win against the Tri-City Americans. The 20-year-old winger had a tooth chipped after taking a high stick to the mouth from Austin Zemlak. The Americans defenseman received a double minor on the play.
Cristall stayed in the game and assisted on Spokane’s final two goals of the night, becoming the first WHL player this season to reach the 100-point mark.

Cristall is now donning a full face shield for the Chiefs after the injury. He wore the bubble for the first time against the Kamloops Blazers on Monday evening and the Washington Capitals prospect looked no worse for wear in Spokane’s 4-2 win.

Cristall scored the game-winning goal, his 38th of the season, at the 15:30 mark of the second period. He would later add an empty-net marker to seal the victory.
The two goals give Cristall 103 points (39g, 64a) through 44 games this season. He is on pace to record 133 points (51g, 82a) if he plays in the Chiefs’ 13 remaining games.
Cristall is the second top Capitals prospect to don the full face shield this season after Ryan Leonard was forced to wear one due to breaking his nose during the World Juniors.
Capitals winger Tom Wilson also wore a bubble earlier this year, breaking a sinus bone after taking a Jakob Chychrun point shot to the face. Wilson has worn the face shield two straight seasons after breaking his nose during the 2023-24 campaign.
