The talented 20-year-old rearguard was allegedly involved in a single-vehicle collision while driving impaired on Saturday morning and left the scene of the accident.
Allen will be charged with impaired driving, impaired operation exceeding legal blood-alcohol levels, failing to remain at the scene of a crash, failing to report an accident, and having a blood-alcohol concentration above zero as a novice driver.
Allen is scheduled to appear in London court on March 6, 2025.
The Capitals signed Allen to a three-year, entry-level contract in July. Allen, who is coached by legendary former Capital Dale Hunter, has 42 points (11g, 31a) in 45 OHL games this season.
