The Hershey Bears will rock new third jerseys that have a nod to their past against the Bridgeport Islanders on Friday night.
The team officially debuted the new look in a promotional video posted on Thursday.
The third jersey’s crest features a nickname for Hershey, Chocolatetown, USA, in an angled script font on the front, emulating a baseball uniform. The crest also features a small version of the team’s roaring bear head logo, first introduced in 2012, placed below the type’s underline.

“We’re proud to play in Chocolatetown, and our new third jerseys honor the town we proudly have called home for 87 seasons,” a Hershey Bears spokesman told RMNB. “The jerseys feature a shoulder patch with some of the iconic sights Hershey offers, including the smokestacks, the roller coasters of Hersheypark, and the GIANT Center. We’re excited to debut these jerseys tonight and wear them during select home games this year.”
The alternate sweaters mimic the team’s look from its early Giant Center days at the turn of the century while the AHL club was an affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. The chocolate brown and dark red jerseys featured Hershey in a script text while the team’s retro bear logo was placed underneath.

The Bears’ new third jerseys were first put up for sale this morning on the team’s online shop beginning at 8 am and will be physically available for purchase at the Bears’ team store at Giant Center this evening. Several sizes online are already sold out as of publishing including large, 2XL, 3XL, and 4XL.

The new design comes after the team redesigned their home and away jerseys this season, going with a sleeker look and integrating a Washington Capitals logo on the shoulder. Hershey also wore back-to-back championship jerseys during their banner-raising weekend in October and rocked brilliant three-time back-to-back championship sweaters earlier in the month.
Hershey also has several new pieces of merch available online including some gear inspired by the team’s three-time back-to-back alternate sweaters and shirts honoring its recent record-breaking teddy bear toss.
