The Hershey Bears will wear special uniforms for the first two games of the 2024-25 AHL season. On Saturday, they will open the campaign with their banner-raising game against the Cleveland Monsters and then play Cleveland again on Sunday evening.
The Bears are trading their new chocolate and white home jerseys for commemorative, back-to-back Calder Cup champion sweaters for both games. Hershey revealed the first look at the jerseys on Thursday evening.
“Golden. We’re rocking these back to back champs sweaters for BOTH games this weekend ✨,” the team’s Instagram caption reads.
The crest in the center of the jerseys will match the “Back-To-Back Calder Cup Champions” logo Hershey has at center ice inside Giant Center this year. The first ‘B’ in the logo is created by using the number 13 in recognition of the 13 championships the franchise has won in their history.
Unlike the center ice logo, though, the jersey’s crest will be outlined in gold. Hershey will auction the jerseys off after Sunday’s game.
FloHockey will air the Bears-Cleveland Monsters season-opening game live on its social media accounts, including Facebook, X, and YouTube. Puck drop will be on Saturday at 7 pm (EST).
Hershey will look to three-peat this season after winning their 13th Calder Cup on home ice in Game 6 of the Calder Cup Finals against the Coachella Valley Firebirds in late June. They also defeated Coachella Valley in seven games to win their 12th championship in 2023.
