The Hershey Bears wore a spectacular specialty throwback jersey at Giant Center during their game against the Rochester Americans on Sunday.

Hershey honored their three pairs of back-to-back Calder Cup championship teams from 1958-1959, 2009-2010, and 2023-2024 with a sweater design that blended together the branding of all six of those clubs.

All fans in attendance Sunday received a promotional poster explaining the busy, but well-designed sweaters that included both the team’s vintage “Standing Bear” logo and diagonal “HERSHEY” text across the front.

History in Hershey

Since the Calder Cup was first awarded in 1936-37, the Hershey Bears are the only AHL franchise to capture three separate pairs of back-to-back championships.

The team released several photos of players wearing the jerseys during warmups along with a few detail shots from the locker room.

The Bears planned to auction off the jerseys after the game, but rescheduled the event to Sunday, March 2 due to a winter storm moving through the area.

The Bears will wear the jerseys again that day against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
