A select group of Washington Capitals fans will get an extra gift when they arrive for the team’s home opener on Saturday night.
Friday afternoon, Tom Wilson announced on his Instagram story that the first 400 fans to arrive via the Capital One Cardholder Entrance would receive a signed belt bag. The bag bears his no. 43 as well as logos for both the Capitals and Capital One.
“Hey @capitals fans! Tomorrow at the home opener, the first 400 fans to enter through the @capitalone Cardholder Entrance on 6th & F St. NW will receive a belt bag signed by me,” Wilson wrote in the post. “Just another cardholder perk at Capital One Arena!”
The Capital One Cardholder Entrance is located on 6th and F Street and offers early access for Capital One cardholders 15 minutes before general admission, opening at 5:45 on Saturday night before the puck drops against the New Jersey Devils at 7pm.
Wilson is set to begin his 12th season with the Caps this fall, where he will skate on the wing of offseason acquisition Pierre-Luc Dubois. This season will mark Wilson’s first campaign as a full-time alternate captain and his first season on a seven-year, $45.5 million dollar extension signed last summer. In 2023-24, Wilson ranked fourth on the team in points (35), scoring 18 goals and 17 assists.
Fans who aren’t able to snag a Wilson belt bag won’t leave the arena empty-handed: all fans in attendance will receive a 2024-25 schedule magnet.
