The Washington Capitals and artist Dave Fried revealed Logan Thompson’s freshly painted DC monument-inspired mask earlier in the week. Now we’ve seen a glimpse at the rest of the goaltender’s new look courtesy of photos from RMNB Katie Adler.
Thompson’s new Bauer pads feature a single navy blue diagonal stripe with white stars inside. The top of the pads are red while the bottom is white. That design also carries over to Thompson’s catching glove and blocker. Thompson’s goalie stick, a Bauer Vapor Hyperlite, is primarily white and has red and navy flourishes. The twig is taped up in white.

Thompson wore the gear during Tuesday’s informal skate.
The 27-year-old netminder first took to the ice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on August 12. The gear he rocked on Tuesday is all recently acquired as he was wearing a Golden Knights’ mask and different pads when he first arrived.

The Capitals acquired Thompson in a trade with the Golden Knights during the second day of the 2024 NHL Draft, sending two third-round draft picks back in return.
Thompson played in 46 games for Vegas during the 2023-24 season. He posted a 25-14-5 record with a 2.70 goals-against average, a .908 save percentage, and one shutout. The netminder has one year remaining on his contract at $766,667.
