As the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers prepare to face off in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, fans are flocking to watch them live. A victory would prove historic for either team: the Panthers have yet to win a championship since joining the NHL, while the Oilers could bring the Cup to Canada for the first time since 1993. The matchup also marks superstar Connor McDavid’s first appearance in the Final, previously coming closest with a Western Conference Final loss in 2022.
Unfortunately for fans, that enthusiasm is reflected in ticket costs — especially in Edmonton. After tickets sold out quickly after release, anyone still wanting a seat will have to contend with sky-high resale prices.
As of Thursday afternoon, a pair of tickets to Game 3 would run fans at least $1298 CAD ($950 USD) on Ticketmaster, while the lowest cost for two seats for Game 6 sits at $2,474 CAD ($1,810 USD). Prices run even higher from there: several pairs of seats to Game 6 are listed for a whopping $11,800 CAD ($8,632 USD). For comparison, the average ticket to this year’s Super Bowl cost around $8,600, per CBS News.
The Oilers will also host fans for watch parties at Rogers Place during away games for $20 per person, up from $5 in the first three rounds.
Fans in Florida, or those willing to travel, fare somewhat better. Some box-office seats are still available through SeatGeek, costing as little as $809. Resale prices go as low as $441 for Game 2. Getting in the door for a potential Game 7 would still run fans a pretty penny, costing $953, but compared to the prices up north that could prove a steal.
The series will kick off in Florida on Saturday at 8 pm.
